is this fir

i found it in northeast US and it was growing low and branching, not more than 3 foot tall. The needles are flat and prickly, altho not so much when very young. Thanks….Jim

    That’s common juniper, Juniperus communis. Generally a shrub. The only native fir we have in the Northeast is balsam fir, and it’s a tree.
